CONTACT

EMAIL

At the moment our website email is unaccessible for some reason.  You can still sign the petition on the Petition page, but if you want to email me, please send your email to:

PHONE

Believe it or not, you can reach me directly by phone most any time of the day or night.  I carry my cell phone with me while I'm walking, so if you want to talk to me, call

(619) 792-5292

SUPPORT

The most significant ways you could lend your support to what I'm doing would be to:

+Sign my petition, either here on the website or by finding a way to meet me along the walk (If you'd like to add your name to my petition but won't be able to meet me along the way, you'll be able to do that at the bottom of the Petition page here by adding your name electronically);

+Become involved in your own community in efforts to bring rational thought and responsible action back into our nation's international actions and dialogue.

+Speak out!  It should be crystal clear by now, with the imperial decree of a "troop surge" and Congress' huffing and puffing but doing nothing substantial, that when this war is ended, it will be We the People who have ended it.  We must provide the backbone our legislators clearly lack, and we can do that by communicating directly and clearly with them.  You can find the email address of your Congressional Representative at http://www.house.gov/writerep/  You can also find your Senators at http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

If you want to contact legislators other than those who represent you directly it can sometimes be a bit tricky, as some of the pages of legislators ask for your address and zip code and won't bring up a contact page if you enter something that is not within their district or state.  It's easy to get around this.  The legislator's own office address will be listed, so just use that address and zip code for your own and you'll bring up a page where you can write to the legislator in question.  But however you do it, DO IT!

Aside from that, I must confess that I am far, far from a wealthy man.  My walk is underway now.  Jonna and I have sold our house and many of our possessions in order to be certain we would have the resources necessary to finish what we have started.  But I left my job behind to do this, which includes losing such things as health insurance.  We have no retirement, no investments, no savings - nada.  This is a journey of faith - faith that we will find a way to accomplish our goal, faith that others will share our vision and offer to assist us.  But make no mistake - now that I have taken the first step along this journey, my final step - God willing - will be in Washington, D.C.  And I will have walked every inch of the way.  Of course, we would like to think that we might have something left over to start our lives up again when we've finished our walk.  That's why we're looking for support along the way.  If you wish you could do this, let me be your feet.  If you would like to help to waken our country from our long nightmare of national rage and get people to THINK about what we're doing and where we're going as a nation once again, let me be your voice.  And if you have resources you would like to share to help to make this a bit easier to accomplish, you can be certain that any and every contribution - large or small - will be very deeply appreciated.  Selling our home has drastically reduced our needs - we'll need a bit less than a thousand dollars a month to keep bills paid and food on the table for the duration of the walk.  Somehow, we will do that.

We can be heard - we can make a difference.  And may your grandchildren remember that you had the courage to stand for something right and true.

MEETING WITH YOUR GROUP

As I walk through small towns across the country, I would be more than willing to stop along the way to talk to interested groups of people about what I'm doing and why.  I won't be walking 24 hours a day, of course.  In fact, especially toward the beginning I plan to set a fairly leisurely pace.  I'm not going to try to establish a firm schedule of when I'll be where, but take a look at the route.  As the walk progresses, you'll be able to get a pretty good feel for when I might be expected to be in a particular area, as I will update the route to show when we hit each town along the way.  If I'm going to be within reasonable driving distance of your location and you can arrange transportation to and from where you are, feel free to call me to see if we can set up a meeting - you'll find my phone number above.

ACCOMMODATIONS

When we sold our house to do this walk, we bought a 23 year old camper that is our support vehicle - actually, it's our home now.  If you live along our route and can offer us a hookup to 110 volts, a water hose and a reasonably level place to park, please let us know by contacting us, or you can sign up here.  We also wouldn't mind an occasional non-mobile place to rest our heads for the night.  Our traveling company consists of myself, Jonna, and our two Shetland Sheepdogs - Finn & Spoof.

DONATIONS

The good people at San Diego Veterans for Peace are now managing any donations you may wish to make to help us in our endeavor.  You can make out a check to San Diego Veterans for Peace with a notation that it is for WTETW and send it to:

The San Diego Veterans for Peace

Your donation is tax deductible.

You can also make a direct donation via PayPal.  Just click the button below, choose an amount for your donation - and it will happen right now!

If you think your small donation won't mean much, you are very, very wrong!  As I walk, Jonna and I are without any source of income whatsoever.  Your donation of 5 or 10 or 20 dollars combined with those of others who feel strongly about the issues we're addressing will make a huge difference to us!  Please do what you can.  Thank you.
